   Light damage. Surface peeled off some roofs, gutters and siding damaged, branches broken, shallow-rooted trees pushed over.

   Moderate damage. Roofs badly stripped, mobile homes overturned or badly damaged, exterior doors lost, windows broken.

3. EF2111 to 135 mphthis tornado

   Considerable damage. Roofs torn off well-built houses, frame homes shifted on their foundations, mobile homes destroyed, large trees snapped or uprooted, cars lifted off the ground.

4. EF3136 to 165 mph

   Severe damage. Whole stories of well-built houses destroyed, large buildings badly damaged, trains overturned, trees debarked, heavy cars lifted and thrown.

5. EF4166 to 200 mph

   Devastating damage. Well-built houses leveled, structures with weak foundations moved some distance, cars thrown and large missiles generated.

6. EF5over 200 mph

   Incredible damage. Strong frame houses swept off their foundations, car-sized missiles thrown more than 100 meters, steel-reinforced concrete badly damaged, high-rise buildings deformed.

7. Unrated

   The survey recorded a tornado but could not put a number on it, most often because it crossed open country and damaged nothing a rating can be read from.

• In addition to a portion of south-facing wall caved in and fascia damaged, photos of insulation strewn immediately downstream suggest roof damage.
• Several homes in this neighborhood with shingles, fascia, and soffit damaged or removed, with the worst of it occurring near the intersection of Beechcraft Blvd and Fuesser Rd.
• News footage shows a large portion of the roof membrane removed from Mascoutah Middle School.

During the late afternoon of March 14, 2025, numerous severe thunderstorms developed across central Missouri and tracked east. After sunset, these thunderstorms began producing tornadoes, some strong, across portions of Missouri and Illinois. In total, 13 tornadoes touched down in the CWA, making it one of the most active outbreaks on record for the St. Louis CWA. Six of these tornadoes occurred at least partially in St. Louis's Illinois counties.

The tornado caused significant roof damage to a home immediately after crossing into Clinton County. It continued to track northeast, causing additional damage to residences and outbuildings before entering the east side of Trenton. Here, the bulk of tornado damage consisted of minor roof damage, although one business did sustain significant damage to its siding and air conditioning units. The tornado dissipated in Trenton at approximately 10:39 PM. In Madison County the tornado was rated EF-2 with a path length of 3.13 miles and a maximum path width of 150 yards.

The county was under a tornado watch, issued at 21:06 UTC and running to 04:00 UTC.
