- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in Tennessee, January 24 to 27, 2026A major winter storm system impacted the State of Tennessee starting late Friday, January 23 and continuing into Sunday, January 25, 2026. Cold air moved into Tennessee Friday evening, setting the stage for winter weather through the weekend.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Tennessee, January 14 to 17, 2024An arctic air mass brought very cold air temperatures and sub-zero wind chills across West Tennessee during the January 14-17, 2024 timeframe.
- Extreme Cold and Heavy Snow in Tennessee, January 14 to 17, 2024A major winter storm impacted all of Middle Tennessee beginning late Sunday, January 14, 2024. With a very cold airmass already in place, snow fell either into the late hours of January 15th or into the early morning hours of January 16th.

- Extreme Cold in Tennessee, December 13, 2010With temperatures in the middle teens during the morning hours on Monday, December 13th, a 73 year old women who had mistakenly locked herself out of her house, died due to hypothermia.
- Extreme Cold in Tennessee, January 14 to 15, 2011An arctic air mass was in place over the Mid-South on January 15th, 2011 that resulted in extreme cold conditions. Snow had fallen earlier in the week which lead a woman to slip and fall outside her home. She died as a result of the exposure to the cold conditions.
- Extreme Cold in Tennessee, January 1 to 4, 2018An Arctic blast of extreme cold temperatures affected Middle Tennessee from the end of December 2017 through the first week of January 2018, with the coldest temperatures occurring from January 1 through January 4.
- Winter Storm and Extreme Cold in Tennessee, December 22 to 24, 2022An abnormally strong and cold upper-level low pressure system plunged southward through much of the central and eastern United States, bringing a blast of Arctic air. These historically cold temperatures impacted all of Middle Tennessee beginning late on December 22, 2022.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Tennessee, December 22 to 24, 2022The coldest airmass since December of 1989 descended upon the Mid-South right before Christmas.

Wind chill values stayed zero or below for around 36 hours straight. In some cases, wind chills dropped into the -15 to -24 degree range in parts of southern middle Tennessee.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Tennessee, January 16 to 17, 2018Temperatures falling into the lower teens combined with north winds of 5 to 15 mph lowered wind chills below zero during the evening of the 16th through the morning of the 17th. Some areas experienced wind chills of 10 to 15 below zero.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Tennessee, January 15 to 17, 2024An Arctic airmass overspread the region after the recent snowfall. North winds combined with the very cold temperatures to produce dangerous cold weather from the 16th into the 17th. During the morning of the 16th, wind chill values dropped into into the 0 to -10 degree range.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Tennessee, January 19 to 21, 2024After a brief moderation in temperatures on the 18th, more Arctic air arrived dropping wind chills once again below zero during the overnight of the 19th into the morning of the 20th, and again on the morning of the 21st.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Tennessee, January 16, 2009An arctic air mass plunged temperatures and wind chills to dangerous levels during the evening hours on the 15th trough early on the 16th. Wind chills dropped to 10 to 15 degrees below zero Fahrenheit.
- Extreme Cold in Tennessee, January 7 to 8, 2015An Arctic cold front pushed through the region on the afternoon of the 7th bringing gusty northerly winds of 20 to 30 mph. Temperatures fell through the 20s and quickly into the teens and single digits during the evening and overnight of the 7th.
