- Marine Thunderstorm Winds and Waterspout in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, May 23, 2017A strong line of thunderstorms develop across portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina in the afternoon hours. This line eventually impacted the coast and the adjacent Atlantic coastal waters, primarily producing strong wind gusts.
- Marine Thunderstorm Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, March 30, 2003A 17-foot boat was swamped or capsized by strong thunderstorm winds associated with the passage of a cold front. A family of four on board were thrown into Biscayne Bay and remained there overnight for 15 hours before being rescued by the Coast Guard.
- Marine Thunderstorm Wind in South Atlantic Coastal Waters, June 13, 2009Two adults died after their 15 foot boat capsized on the Indian River during a strong thunderstorm. Two other adults onboard were unharmed, although all four were thrown into the water. None of the boat occupants were wearing life jackets.

An outflow boundary in advance of the storms created rough seas over a portion of the Indian River. A boat caught in the strong winds capsized.

They were taken to the hospital and released afterwards. Wind gusts were measured to 35 knots...40 mph...minutes earlier at both Virginia Key and Miami Beach.
