- Winter Weather in New York, January 10, 2014Warm air overriding a stationary front to the south with cold Arctic high pressure in place combined to produce freezing rain across parts of southeast New York, especially Long Island.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in New York, February 1, 2008A low pressure system tracked northeast from the Ohio Valley into northern New England on Friday, February 1st, producing a significant mix of mainly sleet and freezing rain across portions of east central New York and adjacent western New England.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in New York, January 28 to 29, 2022A Nor'easter tracked just east of the benchmark bringing the highest snowfall totals and strongest winds to eastern coastal sections. Blizzard conditions verified across Suffolk County on Long Island, with near blizzard conditions for Southern Queens and Nassau Counties.
- Winter Weather in New York, February 10, 2008An arctic front roared across the eastern Lakes region on Sunday morning Feb 10th. Snow squalls accompanied the front with strong northwest winds developing behind the front.
- Winter Weather in New York, January 22, 1997Black ice formed and was widespread across Suffolk County roads. Numerous traffic accidents resulted in "dozens" of injuries, where people were treated at local area hospitals.
- Ice Storm and Winter Storm in New York, December 11 to 12, 2008A cold front moved across eastern New York and western New England on Wednesday, December 10th, ushering a cold airmass into the region. A low pressure system developed over the southeast states Wednesday and Wednesday night.
- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in New York, February 22, 2008A low pressure system tracked from the lower Ohio Valley east toward the Mid Atlantic coast during Friday, February 22nd, to a position off the New England coast by Saturday morning on February 23rd.
- Winter Weather in New York, December 31, 1996A mixture of light freezing rain, sleet, and snow coated all major highways during the afternoon and evening of December 31st, 1996. Roads quickly became treacherous. Numerous accidents occurred. A six car pile-up resulted in injuries on the Belt Parkway in kings County.
- Winter Weather in New York, March 5, 2007Lake Effect snowbands, combined with gusty winds produced near whiteout conditions at times from Monday morning, into Monday evening on March 5th. Snowfall amounts generally ranged from 1 to 4 inches across the region.

The first was a round of light to moderate snow after midnight on 6th to around sunrise, which resulted in one to five inches of snow along and north of the I-88/I-90 corridor.

- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in New York, March 2, 2009A strengthening low pressure system tracked northeast from the southeast coast on Sunday morning, March 1st, to just southeast of Long Island by Monday morning March 2nd. The low then headed northeast into the Canadian maritimes by Tuesday March 3rd.
- Winter Weather in New York, February 29, 2008A low pressure system tracked east from the Great Lakes on Friday February 29th, into eastern Canada by Saturday morning on March 1st. A second low pressure area developed near New York City by Saturday morning.
- Winter Weather in New York, March 8, 2025Wind and snow-covered roads were factors in a two vehicle crash that occurred around 5:30pm on the 8th on Route 8 in Paris, NY. A driver lost control of their vehicle on snow-covered roads, crossing the center line and collided with an oncoming SUV.

- Heavy Snow and Winter Weather in New York, December 16 to 17, 2020An area of low pressure tracked northward off the East Coast toward New York City on Wednesday, December 16, then eastward to just off Cape Cod on Thursday, December 17.
- Winter Weather in New York, March 7, 2025Light snow fell during the morning hours on the 7th. The fresh snow combined with strong winds led to blowing and drifting snow and whiteout conditions at times into the afternoon. Wind gusts as high as 50 mph were recorded at KRME early in the afternoon.

- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in New York, March 22 to 23, 2019Rain turned to snow during the wee hours of the 22nd as a low pressure system quickly strengthened off the coast of New Jersey.
- Winter Weather in New York, December 7, 2012Light freezing rain developed in the morning as a weak warm front approached from the southwest, while surface high pressure off the New England coast provided sub-freezing air at the surface.
- Winter Storm and Winter Weather in New York, March 1 to 2, 2018A rapidly intensifying low pressure developed along the Middle Atlantic during the early morning hours on March 2, 2018. The low moved slowly off the coast and became nearly stationary near the 40 N/70 W benchmark.
- Winter Weather in New York, December 7, 2009Residual water puddles from heavy rain that occurred on Saturday the 5th resulted in slick roads as the puddles froze and frost developed on area roadways. This resulted in a thin layer of ice.
