- Excessive Heat in New York, July 21 to 23, 2011An oppressive hot and humid air mass produced excessive heat that resulted in day time temperatures 95 to 105 degrees with night time lows in the 70s and 80s. Heat indices peaked around 115 degrees during Friday afternoon, July 22.

Temperatures soared into the low to mid-90s with dewpoints in the low to mid-70s. This resulted in heat index values in the 100 to 110 range in the warmest spots of the Hudson Valley.
