- Heat in Missouri, July 18 to 31, 1999A heat wave gripped the area for the last 2 weeks of July. Temperatures stayed in the middle to upper 90s with a few days topping 100. Columbia set a record high with 104 degrees on 7/29/99. St. Louis tied a record with 103 degrees on 7/30/99.
- Heat in Missouri, July 13 to 21, 2006A major heat wave hit the St. Louis area in mid-July. Temperatures ranged from the middle 90s to the around 100 with the Heat Index ranging from around 100 to 115. On July 17, 101 people were treated at Busch Stadium during the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.
- Heat in Missouri, July 18 to 31, 1999Northwest Missouri suffered through two weeks of oppressive heat and humidity in late July as temperatures topped the 90 degree mark for 14 consecutive days. Dew points in the lower to middle 70s pushed afternoon heat indices above 100 degrees each day.
- Heat in Missouri, July 14 to 21, 2006A major heat wave hit the St. Louis area in mid-July. Temperatures ranged from the middle 90s to a high of 100 on July 19. To make matters worse, severe thunderstorms roared across the region on the 19th and 21st causing a historic power outage.
- Heat in Missouri, June 23 to 30, 1998The first heat wave of the summer caused 3 deaths and at least 143 heat related injuries. High temperatures wee in the middle 90s with the heat index from 105 to 110.
- Heat in Missouri, July 26 to 31, 2002High temperatures across Central, Eastern and Southeast Missouri rose to the middle to upper 90's with Heat Indices from 105 to near 115 degrees. There was a one day break in the heat as a weak cold front dropped high temperatures into the upper 80's on July29.
- Heat in Missouri, July 2 to 14, 2000The first heat wave of the summer hit the area resulting in at least 4 deaths and over 100 injuries. The temperature during the event ranged from the upper 80 to middle 90. However the relative humidity was very high resulting in a Heat Index ranging from 105 to 110.
- Heat in Missouri, July 7 to 10, 2001The first real heat wave of the summer hit the area July 7 through July 10. Temperatures peaked in the middle to upper 90s with the Heat Index ranging from 105 to 110. At least 5 people died from the heat.
- Heat in Missouri, July 3 to 9, 2003The first heat wave of the summer caused 3 deaths in the City of St. Louis. On Juuly 6, a 78 year old man was found dead in his brick home with a body temperature of 111 degrees and a 54 year old man was found dead outside Busch Memorial Stadium.
- Heat in Missouri, July 20 to 26, 2005The first significant heat wave in several years struck all of central, eastern, northeast, and southeast Missouri. Columbia recorded 6 straight days of 100 plus temperatures with the highest being 105 degrees on the 23rd and 24th. St.
- Heat in Missouri, August 28 to 31, 2000A late summer Heat Wave hit the region as temperatures rose into the middle to upper 90s with the heat Index ranging from 105 to around 110 degrees. Many area schools either closed or reduced class time to a half day because of the heat.
- Heat in Missouri, July 18 to 22, 1998High temperatures in the middle to upper 90s along with Heat Index readings around 110 resulted in numerous heat related injuries across the region. Fortunately, there were no deaths attributed to the heat.
- Heat in Missouri, July 21 to 24, 2001The second mini Heat Wave of the month hit from July 21 through July 24. Temperatures rose to the middle to upper 90s with St. Louis hitting 99 degrees, the hottest of the summer thus far. The maximum Heat Index ranged from 105 to 115 degrees.
- Heat in Missouri, July 21 to 26, 2005Several days of excessive heat and humidity caused two fatalities and a significant increase in heat-related illnesses. In Cape Girardeau, two residents of a home without air conditioning died. The windows were closed because one of the victims suffered from asthma.
- Heat in Missouri, July 23 to 31, 1999A prolonged period of excessive heat occurred in central, southwest, and south central Missouri. Afternoon high temperatures during this period averaged 95 degrees or higher with heat index values of 105 to 115 degrees.
- Heat in Missouri, July 1 to 31, 2012A strong ridge of high pressure settled over the central portions of the U.S. and became the dominant weather pattern for much of the Summer of 2012. Several record highs were broken around the area and high temperatures reached above 100 degrees 12 days.
- Heat in Missouri, July 4 to 5, 2018Unseasonably hot and humid weather settled over Missouri during the Fourth of July holiday period. Highs were in the mid 90s with heat index values between 100 and 110. As a result, at least 100 people suffered heat-related illnesses at various outdoor events.

- Heat in Missouri, August 15 to 21, 2003A late summer heat wave hit in mid August, just as many area schools were starting the new school year. As a result, most schools reduced their schedule to a half day while a few closed completely.
- Heat in Missouri, August 1 to 5, 2001Excessive heat and humidity covered northwest Missouri between August 1st and August 5th. Afternoon heat indices ranged from 105 to 113 degrees. Three males and one female died in the Kansas City Metropolitan area.
- Heat in Missouri, July 16 to 20, 2006Oppressive heat and humidity combined to produce afternoon and early evening heat indices from 105 to 115 degrees, from July 16th through July 20th. The highest computed heat index reached 121 degrees at Amity Missouri.
- Heat in Missouri, July 10 to 12, 2011A short but intense Heat Wave hit Central and Eastern Missouri from July 10 - 12. High temperatures were in the upper 90s to around 100. St. Louis hit 100 on the 11th and 102 on the 12. There was one death reported in the City of St. Louis related to this Heat Wave.
- Heat in Missouri, August 1 to 6, 2002The hot temperatures of late July continued across central and eastern Missouri into early August. The temperature his 101 degrees in St. Louis on August 1, and then was 99 for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Columbia hit 99 degrees on August 3rd.
- Heat in Missouri, April 8 to 9, 2001Four residents of a nursing home in University City died from heat related causes. The air conditioning at the facility failed causing the temperature in some rooms to rise well into the 90s.
- Heat in Missouri, July 9 to 13, 2004A minor heat wave resulted in one death in St. Louis County. A 49 year old woman was found dead in her home on July 14th. She had a body temperature of 105 degrees.
