- Cold in Massachusetts, October 30, 2000The high temperature at Worcester Regional Airport only reached 34 degrees at 8:47 am. This broke the record for the lowest maximum temperature for the date, which was 38 degrees set in 1952.

- Cold in Massachusetts, January 2 to 4, 2014In the midst of a long duration snow event, northerly winds transported very cold air into the region from Canada on Thursday, January 2nd. Temperatures fell through the entire day, with many areas below zero by late in the day, even with snow falling.
- Cold in Massachusetts, January 26, 2014Behind a fast moving clipper system, cold arctic air returned to the region for the early morning hours of Sunday, January 26th. With gusty westerly winds behind the clipper's cold front, wind chill values were as low as -15 to -20 degrees.

Very cold air in place allowed for daytime high temperatures only in the single digits and teens and readings frequently below zero at night.

- Cold in Massachusetts, February 2 to 3, 2015Behind a departing snowstorm, Arctic air moved into the region between February 2nd and February 3rd. Overnight low temperatures dropped to zero to 10 below zero in many areas, with a few spots as low as 15 below zero.
- Cold in Massachusetts, February 13, 2015Behind an Arctic cold front, a frigid air mass moved into western Massachusetts on the late evening of Thursday, February 12th into the early morning hours of Friday, February 13th. This very cold air was also accompanied by gusty northwest winds of up to 35 mph.
- Cold in Massachusetts, February 23 to 24, 2015In the wake of another Arctic cold front, gusty northwest winds ushered in a frigid air mass into the region on Monday, February 23rd.
- Cold in Massachusetts, February 5 to 6, 2015Behind an Arctic cold front, a frigid air mass moved into western Massachusetts by the evening on Thursday, February 5th. This very cold air was also accompanied by gusty northwest winds.
- Cold in Massachusetts, January 30 to 31, 2015Behind an Arctic cold front, very cold temperatures moved into the region from Canada for the overnight hours between Friday, January 30th and Saturday, January 31st. Temperatures dropped to zero to 5 below zero in most areas.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Massachusetts, February 19 to 20, 2015In the wake of a departing storm system, strong northwest winds brought yet another frigid Arctic air mass into the region during the evening on Thursday, February 19th.
