- Cold in Idaho, October 23, 2020On the morning of October 23rd, the city of Pocatello experienced record cold morning|for the date. Officially, there was a record low of 16 degrees at the office and airport. In town (and the part of Pocatello), temperatures dropped to between 20-25 degrees.
- Cold in Idaho, December 25, 2021A 30 year old man was found dead in a field near Parker Idaho. The cause was believed to be extended exposure to cold air. At the time of death wind chill temperatures were in the teens.
- Heavy Snow and Cold in Idaho, January 7 to 14, 199812 inches new snow in Kellogg...8 inches new snow in Wallace and Silverton...6 inches new snow in Osburn
- Flash Flood and Winter Storm in Idaho, December 1 to 29, 1998In addition to 4 - 8" of snow, winds of 50-60 mph were reported at the mountain passes.
- Cold in Idaho, December 6 to 7, 2005Bitterly cold air slipped west across the continental divide behind an arctic cold front. Strong north to northeast winds in the 15 to 25 mph range dropped wind chill readings to -20 to -30 degrees across much of southeast Idaho overnight on the 6th and early morning on the 7th.
- Extreme Cold and Cold in Idaho, February 22 to 23, 2022The passage of a Canadian cold front brought extremely cold wind chill temperatures overnight on the 22nd into the daytime on the 23rd. Henry's Lake recorded the coldest wind chill temperature at 46 below zero at 730 AM on the 23rd.
- Cold in Idaho, February 24, 2003The first arctic frontal boundary of the winter season filtered through southeast Idaho on February 23rd and behind it strong northerly winds.
- Cold in Idaho, December 7 to 8, 2005For the second straight night, bitterly cold wind chill readings affected the Snake River Plain. Wind chill temperatures were -29 in Minidoka, -30 In Aberdeen, and -35 in Taber. Schools were closed on the 8th in parts of Butte, Custer, Fremont, and Jefferson counties.
- Cold in Idaho, January 4 to 6, 2004The morning of January 4, 5, and 6 brought extreme cold to northern Idaho. The morning low temperature on the coldest morning, January 5, was minus 24 at Coeur D'Alene.
- Cold in Idaho, February 16 to 17, 2006Strong winds combined with arctic air flooding in from the north caused extremely cold wind chills across Lemhi County Idaho. Wind chill values of -20 to -30 degrees were observed.
- Cold in Idaho, February 17, 2006A strong arctic cold front pushed south through southeast Idaho and brought extreme cold to the region. Wind chill readings were 25 to 35 degrees below zero. Schools were forced to close due to the cold in Jefferson, Teton, and Fremont counties.
- Cold in Idaho, February 18, 2006Wind chills of -20 to -30 degrees again were widespread for the second straight morning in the Upper Snake Highlands and Upper Snake River Plain.
- Cold in Idaho, March 24 to 26, 1996A cold Canadian airmass brought record cold temperatures to the Treasure Valley. The cold temperatures lasted for three mornings causing damage to fruit trees already in bloom.
- Cold in Idaho, May 1 to 31, 2010The average temperature in May of 48.5 degrees at the Pocatello Regional Airport broke the previous all time record cold average temperature for the month of 48.8 degrees set in 1953.
- Cold in Idaho, February 22 to 23, 2023Arctic air pushed across the Continental Divide into western Montana and central Idaho. Temperatures well below zero were experienced, along with dangerously cold wind chills.
