- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 27, 2024Tropical Storm Helene formed in the NW Caribbean Sea on September 24. Helene moved northward into the Gulf of Mexico where it strengthened into a hurricane on September 25.
- Hurricane and Tornado in Georgia, September 25 to 27, 2024Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph and a minimum central pressure of 938 mb (27.70 inches) at about 11:10 PM EDT on Thursday, September 26th, in Taylor County Florida just east of the Aucilla River.
- Hurricane and Tornado in Georgia, September 26 to 27, 2024Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane in the Big Bend region of Florida at 11 PM EDT. Helene moved quickly inland bringing wind gusts between 50 and 100 mph to portions of east and central Georgia.
- Hurricane and Tornado in Georgia, September 26 to 28, 2024Hurricane Helene made landfall as a category 4 with peak winds of near 140 mph in the Florida Big |Bend just east of the Aucilla River Entrance in Taylor County, late Thursday evening September 26, |2024.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 26 to 27, 2024Helene first developed into a tropical storm in the northwest Caribbean Sea in the late morning of September 24, and strengthened into a hurricane near the Yucatan peninsula about 24 hours later.
- Tropical Storm and Flash Flood in Georgia, September 11 to 13, 2017On the morning of August 30th Tropical Storm Irma developed rapidly over the eastern Atlantic Ocean, just west of the Cape Verde Islands. Tropical Irma quickly strengthened as it moved west, reaching hurricane strength by the morning of August 31st.
- Tropical Storm and Flash Flood in Georgia, October 28 to 29, 2020During the late evening of October 28th through the morning of October 29th, Tropical Storm Zeta swept rapidly across north Georgia producing widespread wind damage and isolated flooding across north and portions of central Georgia.
- Hurricane and Tropical Storm in Georgia, October 7 to 8, 2016Matthew first developed into a Tropical Storm about 35 miles southeast of St. Lucia on September 28 before quickly strengthening into a powerful hurricane as it tracked westward across the Caribbean Sea.
- Hurricane and Tropical Storm in Georgia, October 10, 2018Hurricane Michael started as typical weak October Caribbean tropical system. However, after approximately a week of slow development, the system moved into warm Gulf of Mexico waters and rapidly intensified into a major hurricane as it moved north towards the Florida Panhandle.
- Hurricane and Tropical Storm in Georgia, August 30, 2023Hurricane Idalia made landfall on the morning of August 30th along the coast of Taylor County Florida near Keaton Beach at approximately 745 am EDT.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 10 to 11, 2017Hurricane Irma brought numerous impacts to the Florida Big Bend, southwest Georgia and southeast Alabama including widespread downed trees and power lines, roads blocked by trees, power outages, and trees on homes.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, August 22 to 24, 2008Tropical Storm Fay, which came ashore along the northeast Florida coast, moved slowly westward toward the Florida Panhandle from the 22nd through the 24th. The rain bands from Fay produced sustained winds of 25 to 40 mph with frequent gusts over 45 mph.
- Tropical Storm and Flash Flooding in Georgia, August 5, 2024Hurricane Debby made landfall along the Taylor County coast as a Category 1 Hurricane on the morning of Monday August 5th. In addition to storm surge flooding along the FL Big Bend coast, around 12 inches of rainfall lead to widespread flooding in Madison and Taylor counties.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, August 21 to 27, 2008Tropical Storm Fay will be remembered from the catastrophic rainfall that it brought to much of Florida as well as being one of the longer lived tropical systems to affect the U.S. Tropical Storm Fay formed from a tropical wave on August 15th along the east coast of Hispaniola.
- Hurricane and Tornadoes in Georgia, October 10 to 11, 2018Hurricane Michael made landfall along the Florida panhandle at Mexico beach (just southeast of Panama City) on the afternoon of October 10, 2018 as a high-end Category 4 hurricane (max winds of 155 MPH).
- Tropical Storm and Storm Surge in Georgia, September 11, 2017Irma first developed into a tropical storm on August 30th about 420 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, and within 24 hours strengthened into a hurricane. Irma continued to intensify and became a major hurricane over the eastern Atlantic on September 1st.
- Tornado and Tropical Storm in Georgia, July 7, 2021Tropical Storm Elsa tracked NNE across the western tier of the local forecast area through the day on Wed, July 7th. The storm made landfall along the FL Big Bend coast.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 2, 2016Hurricane Hermine impacted southwest Georgia in early September with significant inland wind gusts which downed numerous trees and power lines. Rainfall generally ranged from 3-8 with minimal impacts from inland flooding. County by county impacts are as follows.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 14 to 16, 2002The remnants of Tropical Storm Hanna produced torrential rains that caused severe localized flooding, as well as scattered wind damage across portions of southwest Georgia.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 5 to 7, 2004Tropical Storm Frances continued to slowly weaken as it moved north into southwest Georgia during the late afternoon and evening hours of September 6. Maximum sustained winds reached 38 knots at Albany, GA, with a peak wind gust 59 knots.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 26 to 27, 2004Tropical Storm Jeanne moved north across south central Georgia during the early morning hours of September 27. Maximum sustained winds up to 40 knots with peak gusts to 50 knots were reported. The lowest sea-level pressure was 987.8 mb at Valdosta, GA.
- Tropical Storm and Flash Flooding in Georgia, September 27, 2024Tropical Cyclone Helene began organizing over the western Caribbean on the 23rd and 24th of September before rapidly intensifying as it moved north through the eastern Gulf of Mexico on the 25th and 26th.
- Tropical Storm in Georgia, September 15 to 17, 2004Hurricane Ivan weakened to a tropical storm as it moved into southwest Alabama on September 16. The maximum sustained wind recorded was 29 knots at Albany, GA. The peak wind gust recorded was 37 knots at Valdosta, GA. The lowest sea-level pressure was 1003 mb at Albany.
- Tropical Storm and Flash Flood in Georgia, November 10 to 12, 2009Hurricane Ida, which formed in the Caribbean and intensified to a category two hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale, moved north from the Caribbean across the central Gulf of Mexico and then inland along the U.S. Gulf coast near Mobile, Alabama early on the 10th.
- Tropical Storm and Heavy Rain in Georgia, May 27 to 29, 2012Tropical Storm Beryl moved onshore on the northeast Florida coast the night of Sunday May 27th...and moved slowly inland across north Florida Monday the 28th and on the 29th began to recurve to the northeast over south Georgia.
