The low pressure center then slowly moved north along the coast, reaching Cape Cod by late November 17. At the same time, a shallow layer of arctic air bled south from eastern Canada.

This storm produced light accumulations of snow across Litchfield County followed by damaging accumulations of freezing rain and sleet.

- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in Connecticut, October 29 to 30, 2011A historic and unprecedented early-season winter storm impacted the area on Saturday, October 29, with more than one foot of heavy wet snow falling on interior portions of Southern Connecticut. This is the first time a winter storm of this magnitude has ever occurred in October.

- Winter Storm in Connecticut, December 6, 1996A low pressure system off the coast of New Jersey rapidly intensified during the morning hours of December 6. Heavy wet snow fell over the higher terrain of Litchfield County.
- Winter Storm in Connecticut, December 7 to 8, 1996During December 7 and 8, a low pressure system moved from the Chesapeake Bay northeast to Portland Maine. The winter storm dumped heavy wet snow across Litchfield County. Power outages were widespread as the heavy snow downed many trees and power lines.
- Winter Storm in Connecticut, November 14, 1997On November 13 and 14, a winter storm tracked from the southeast coast north to the coast of southern New England and then out to sea. In Litchfield county, heavy accumulations of sleet and freezing rain occurred after several inches of snow.
