This storm system brought heavy snow and blizzard conditions to much of northern Alaska.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 10 to 12, 2001A storm as low as 961 mb moved north over the Bering Sea on the 10th, filling to 983 mb by the time it reached the western Chukchi Sea on the evening of the 11th.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, December 25 to 27, 1999Blizzard conditions were reported across much of the southwest Alaskan coast, Bristol Bay, the eastern Aleutians and Pribilofs Sunday. Wind gusts reached close to 50 mph in places, with local wind chills to 70 below calculated in the southwest interior.
- Winter Storm and Coastal Flood in Alaska, October 11 to 13, 2025Ex-Typhoon Halong brought high winds and severe coastal flooding to the West Coast of Alaska from October 11th to 13th. The storm caused severe coastal flooding in the Kuskokwim River Delta and high water levels extending north to the Yukon River Delta.
- Blizzard and Ice Storm in Alaska, November 8 to 11, 2013A large and persistent area of high pressure which developed over the North Pacific forced the jet stream northward, which directed a series of very strong low pressure systems into the Bering Sea from the 6th through the 14th of November.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in Alaska, January 11 to 17, 2011January 11 through January 17th. A 1060 MB super high cell built over the northern Alcan 1/11 and extended to the southeast over the Yukon. Pressure gradients were extreme for gap outflow offshore winds. This pattern persisted for days as a result of a blocking high aloft.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 5 to 7, 2015A second major wind storm hit Southeast Alaska beginning on the evening of Wednesday February 4th. Strong arctic high pressure built over the Yukon Territory as a significant gale force low developed off the WA/OR coast.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 10 to 12, 2017Strong SSW flow aloft ahead of an occluded front on 2/10 brought snow, high winds, and even blizzard conditions to the Panhandle. As the front moved onshore on 2/11, warm air overrunning very cold air at the surface caused the snow to accumulate rapidly.
- Winter Storm in Alaska, January 12 to 16, 2024Over an extended long weekend event, a prefrontal trough followed by a stronger main system with attached moisture plume, delivered first a wave of dry powdery snow with very high snow rations (40:1 to 50:1 in many places).
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 20 to 24, 2023Low pressure across the Bering Sea moves a series of fronts over the coast into the Interior causing heavy snow and gusty winds with low visibilities.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 22 to 26, 2011A 968 mb low in the central Bering Sea at 2100AKST on the 23rd moved to the Gulf of Anadyr as a 976 mb low at 0900AKST on the 24th. The low tracked to the northeast as a 978 mb low in the southern Chukchi Sea at 2100AKST on the 24th.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 11 to 14, 2009On the morning of the 12th a 963 mb low in the western Bering Sea tracked slowly northeast and weakened to 996 mb east of Saint Lawrence Island through the evening of the 13th. The storm moved inland and filled on the 14th.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, February 16 to 20, 2026A strong Bering Sea low moves into the Gulf of Anadyr, allowing for a strong front to move into Western Alaska. As the front approached the West Coast, strong east/southeast winds brought blizzard and whiteout conditions to much of the Seward Peninsula south.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, December 3 to 5, 2011A 960 mb low approximately 200 miles west of Nunivak Island at 1500AKST on the 3rd moved north to Saint Lawrence Island by 0300AKST on the 4th as a 968 mb low. The low drifted slowly north to the Bering Strait as a 970 mb low by 1500AKST on the 4th.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in Alaska, February 8 to 12, 2008A 1046 MB high cell over the Yukon forced the arctic front south into Dixon Entrance. Warm moist air from the Gulf moved aloft over the front for the southern third of the Panhandle on 2/8.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in Alaska, January 7 to 11, 2022A strong low pressure system in the Gulf of Alaska brings Taku winds to Juneau ahead of the storm, and widespread winds and snow across Southeast Alaska. Heavy snow transitioned to rain across much of the area.
