The greatest impact occurred in the higher valleys of southwest Montana where slippery conditions were noted.

A weather spotter 7 miles west of Anaconda reported 5 inches of total snowfall. During the morning of the 9th, several vehicle accidents occurred across the region. A rollover was reported at mile-marker 4 on US-12 near MacDonald Pass, followed by a second rollover near Garrison Junction. A jackknifed truck was reported at MacDonald Pass and a separate crash blocked Montana Highway 1 near Philipsburg.
