Low pressure moving from Nebraska into Minnesota generated strong winds across central, north central and northeast South Dakota. A peak wind gust of 68 mph was recorded at a mesonet station 2 miles north of the Pierre Regional Airport, with a 63 mph gust at the South Dakota Department of Transportation weather station 3 miles southeast of Reliance.
