An atmospheric river brought areas of rain and gusty winds. Sub-freezing temperatures resulted in icy road impacts. Avalanches were noted in a few areas.

3 winter weather, 1 avalanche, 1 heavy rain, 1 strong wind. Local standard time, as filed.
Snow slide blocked the right lane of Highway 1 in the Flint Creek Canyon, northwest of Georgetown Lake.
Light freezing rain resulted in icy conditions on U.S. Highway 2. Unplowed side roads turned to sheets of ice. An avalanche measuring 20 to 30 feet high and 75 feet wide, completely blocked Going-To-The-Sun Road. Higher elevations above 7000 feet gusted as high as 78 mph early on the 24th.
Rain fell with cold subsurface ground temperatures and gusty winds, resulting in icy conditions. Road crews had to treat roads even with air temperatures in the 40s. Several accidents were noted. Ponding water also blocked roadways. Gusty winds to 55 mph also occurred in the Mission Valley early on the 24th.
Icy conditions were noted on Highway 83 and 200 the mornings of the 23rd and 24th. Traffic accidents were noted including a fatality related to icy conditions near Potomac. A rock and snow slide blocked the northbound lane of Highway 200 near Bonner around 1620MST on the 22nd.
Up to 2.00 inches of rain fell from Bull Lake to Noxon, heaviest on the evening of the 23rd.
Minor power outages were noted in the Bull Lake and Libby areas due to gusty winds estimated near 45 mph. Thunderstorms in the Idaho Panhandle may have enhanced winds as well.
As the offices recorded each death: direct deaths were caused by the weather itself, indirect ones by something it set in motion.
