What happened

The episode as NWS LSX wrote it up.

Snow began in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 29 and quickly became heavy. Snowfall rates reached 1 inch per hour or more for a time. Snow gradually transitioned to rain as the temperature warmed up after sunrise, but several inches had already blanketed the region by then. This was a heavy, wet snowfall that quickly coated roads and led to hazardous travel conditions primarily Saturday morning.
