What happened

The episode as NWS SHV wrote it up.

A southerly low level flow deepened through the day on September 21st, resulting in an increase in low level moisture and thus, greater humidity during the afternoon. Temperatures climbed into the mid 90s during the afternoon, resulting in moderate to strong instability across the area. While nothing was evident aloft to help to focus any concentrated areas of showers and thunderstorms, strong heating and available moisture alone was adequate enough for an isolated severe thunderstorm to develop over Southern Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana, which tracked northeast through portions of East Shreveport into Bossier City. This storm produced several instances of damaging winds and large hail, primarily across Downtown Shreveport and portions of Bossier City, before weakening by early evening.
