By the end of February, only about 10 percent of the area was in severe drought which was an improvement from the 34 percent in January. By the end of February, Nashville's official climate site had measured 9.21 inches of rain so far this year which is above normal for the end of February.

If you thought Thursday afternoon temperatures were nice, let me introduce you to afternoon high temperatures on Friday and especially Saturday, when highs will mainly range upper 50s to lower 60s! Lows by Saturday night will be in low to mid 40s, upper 30s to around 40 Cumberland Plateau Region. Although majority of moisture, surface frontal system, and broad upper level low circulation will move south of mid state region, enough moisture should spread across our area to supporting initial development of showers across western portions after midnight Saturday night, with showers spreading eastward as Sunday into Monday progresses. Showers are expected to taper off across locations mainly east of I-65 Corridor Monday Evening. However, total rainfall amounts should remain only between around 0.25" to 0.50."
