A storm system tracking north of the Buffalo County Warning Area caused a widespread light snow to fall across much of western and north central New York. Heavier snow fell east of Lake Ontario due to lake enhacement and the higher terrain. Passing mid and upper troughs also helped aid in prolonging the snowfall across much of the region, including the warned areas. Snow started on the morning of March 19th, and continued into the afternoon on March 20.

Notable snowfall amounts include: 11.5 inches in Constableville, 11.0 inches in Highmarket, 10.0 inches in Parish and 9.8 inches in Mexico.
