Severe/D2 drought conditions developed in response to an abnormally dry and mild September and October. The COOP Observer at Artichoke Lake recorded only 0.28 inches in September and 0.12 inches in October, while Wheaton would only see 0.22 inches in September and 0.35 inches in October.
