Showers will fairly low rain rates will continue to move inland
off the Gulf of Mexico. As diurnal heating starts up, heavier
showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop later.
A Flood Watch remains in effect for portions of NE FL, any
additional heavy rainfall in sensitive areas will be monitored
closely for flooding potential since grounds are very saturated,
especially in Duval and Nassau counties. Again, the highest
potential for an additional 1-2" will be near the east coast where
boundaries interact.
Patchy dense fog is possible again early Saturday morning over
portions of inland NE FL and SE GA as clouds clear, with fog
dissipating a few hours after sunrise. Low temperatures will be in
the 70s area-wide.

A frontal boundary sits to the south of the area through much of
the weekend before it begins to shift northward by the end of the
weekend. An area of low pressure will continue to develop along
the boundary off the SE US coast heading into the upcoming work
week. While not as high as the past couple of days, showers and
thunderstorms coverage will continue on Saturday (PoPs 45%-65%) as
moist air sits over the area (PWATs> 1.8"). Dry air moving in from
the Gulf will begin to limit activity come Sunday as most showers
and storms will likely develop to the east of US-301. Warmer
daytime temperatures for our north central Florida counties as
temperatures will rise to the lower 90s, as the rest of the area
will see temperatures from the low to upper 80s. Overnight lows
will be in the 70s.

A rex block like pattern will be in place over the eastern CONUS
during the first half of the upcoming week leaving some
uncertainty in the extended forecast. In regards to the surface
low off the coast of South Carolina, NHC currently has a 40%
chance of development during the next 7 days. But regardless of
development, the surface low will likely shift towards the
Carolina coast from Monday into Tuesday. What this means for our
area is northeasterly flow will continue. The wet pattern will
remain through midweek as the frontal boundary continues to
linger over the area. But drier air is anticipated to move south
into the area by Wednesday evening, bringing lower precipitation
chances by the latter half of the week. Temperatures will be
around seasonal with highs in the 80s and lows in the upper 60s
and low 70s.

A disturbance traversing a broadened frontal boundary is shunting
a shield of stratiform rain across northeast FL early this
afternoon. Low-MVFR and IFR ceilings will accompany this area of
rain through the afternoon and evening with visibility dropping
toward MVFR in regions of moderate rainfall. As rain tapers off
this evening conditions may improve to MVFR or potentially VFR
briefly before low stratus and localized fog develops overnight.
Winds will favor a northeasterly direction today and back
northerly tonight.

Northeast winds will continue and increase over the weekend as a
coastal trough develops along an old frontal boundary and high
pressure wedges in from the north. Hazardous conditions for small
craft may develop by Sunday as northeasterly winds begin to surge
into the coastal waters north of Fernandina Beach. Small Craft
Advisory conditions may spread into the northeast Florida coastal
waters next week. An area of low pressure developing along the
coastal trough may deepen and send a trailing cold front across
the waters during the middle to latter part of next week.
Rip Currents: Moderate risk of Rip Currents for area beaches
Today. High risk of Rip Currents for area beaches on Saturday as
northeasterly winds begin to increase into Sunday.

Deep tropical moisture located to the east and southeast of
Francine's remnant circulation will overspread our region from
west to east this afternoon. Downpours and embedded thunderstorms
this afternoon through early this evening will be capable of
producing an additional 1-2 inches of rainfall, especially for
locations along and east of the U.S. Highway 301 corridor. The
Flood Watch was expanded to include areas along and east of
U.S.-301 in northeast FL, with Camden County in southeast GA
remaining included. Localized totals of 3-4 inches cannot be ruled
out due to expected slow storm motion and the potential for
downpours to train repeatedly over the same locations. Afternoon
and evening convection may shift further inland on Saturday
afternoon and evening.
