This is a continuation of the event that began at the end of January 2023. A complex weather pattern set up across Middle Tennessee beginning on January 31, 2023 which continued into early February. Southerly flow was responsible for bringing moisture into the area while a cold front approaching from the north dropped temperatures below freezing. Vertical temperature profiles revealed that precipitation types would vary across Middle Tennessee. A pronounced area of above freezing temperatures around 750 mb combined with temperatures near or below freezing at the surface supported sleet and freezing rain precipitation types. Off-and-on wintry precipitation continued through February 2nd, and impacts from ice accumulations felt most across the northwest portion of Middle Tennessee.

Ice Storm, Montgomery

This is a continuation of the event that started at the end of January 2023. Ice accumulations across Montgomery County resulted in several reports of downed trees and power lines which resulted in power outages. The Clarksville Lead Chronicle reported that many roads across the county were covered in ice and sleet with several accidents occurring. Interstate 24 was forced to close between mile markers 13 and 15 late on January 31st. No information was available on any potential injuries in these accidents.

This is a continuation of the event that began at the end of January 2023. Ice accumulations across Robertson County downed several trees and power lines. This resulted in power outages with an estimated 1,500 customers without power at one point late on January 31st. Treacherous travel conditions were also reported, especially along Interstates 24 and 65 with numerous wrecks occurring. No information was available on any potential injuries in these accidents.
