Heat index values across western Middle Tennessee once again exceeded 110 degrees during the afternoon. Nashville International Airport recorded a high temperature of 100 degrees for the second consecutive day.

Like the last several nights, it's sticky out there with areas of fog. The fog will mix out shortly after dawn giving way to another miserably hot day. 850mb temperatures will be the same or even a degree higher today, so expect a large portion of the area to top out in the mid to upper 90s. BNA hit 100 yesterday, so I went with 101 today. The record high for BNA for today is 102 set in 1943, so there is a possibility that we tie it. The record for CSV is 92 set in 2011. The forecast high is 91. Heat index values today will be pretty similar today compared to yesterday. I went ahead and added the rest of the counties that aren't on the plateau to the heat advisory for today otherwise, no changes were made. Saturday will be another hot one, but it's the last excessively hot day we have to deal with in the forecast. There will be more cloud cover around plus some PoPs in the forecast, so there is more uncertainty of whether or not we hit heat advisory criteria. At this point, I did not extend the heat headlines through Saturday. && .LONG TERM... Showers and storms chances will be slightly higher on Sunday compared to Saturday. Highs starting Sunday will be back in the 80s compared to the mid to upper 90s. Those more comfortable conditions look like they will continue through next work week. A reinforcing cold front will move through on Wednesday knocking temperatures even lower. Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will be in the mid 70s to lower 80s with a 10 mph north wind. && .AVIATION...
