.SYNOPSIS...
A cold front will continue to cross the region tonight. High
pressure builds in for Wednesday and Thursday. Another cold front is
scheduled to move through the region Friday. High pressure to build
in and hold firm for the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
This evening...Severe thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 900
PM for southern/central NJ, metro Philadelphia and our Delmarva
counties. These outlined areas have heated up greatly so far
today while the northern areas have remain mostly cloudy. The
decent CAPE values and good shear should promote tstms which
will move mostly W to E across the region this evening. Damaging
winds and hail are possible with a small possibility of a
tornado too. The cells appear to be moving at a decent clip so
far, so the flooding threat looks lower than past events. Still
some localized issues possible however. Pay attention to
updates/warnings over the next several hours.

Tonight...After the severe weather threat ends, low level
moisture and weak winds will lead to times of light showers and
fog overnight. Conditions will be lower in areas that receive
rains this evening. Lows will be in the mid/upper 60s mostly.

Wednesday...The front and weak low pressure area will have
moved offshore by morning, but there isn't a strong push of
drier air behind it. The upper trough lingers across the area.
Overall, precipitation coverage will decrease later tonight and
there isn't much forcing for rains on Wednesday. We'll have a
dry fcst attm but clouds and some morning fog are expected.
After low clouds diminish, partly sunny skies and warm/humid
conditions expected. Highs will be in the mid 80s most spots and
dew points a bit drier than today, but still in the upper
60s/low 70s most areas.

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Brief upper height rises occur Wednesday night into early Thursday
ahead of an approaching deep upper trough. A cold front will remain
stalled out off the coast while a surface low tries to develop along
it off to our southeast. Some vorticity advection will slide through
while we remain between two systems, and a few showers may try to
sneak on shore across the southern half of NJ as the stalled front
pushes back northwest as a warm front, and also further northwest
into the Poconos. Included some slight chance mentions of precip for
these areas on Thursday afternoon but don't expect coverage to be
all that widespread. Highs Thursday will be in the mid to upper 80s
and southerly flow will hold dew points in the low 70s, so it will
still feel quite muggy.

The better chance (though still relatively low) for precip comes
overnight Thursday into Friday morning as a cold front extending
south from a low across Ontario passes. Most guidance has it
arriving in the later overnight hours Thursday night, though the NAM
holds it back until later on Friday morning. Either way, despite the
higher dew points, not expecting any severe weather with this
frontal passage with the unfavorable overnight timing. Guidance
isn't all that excited about overall precip coverage either, so
doesn't appear that this will be a significant widespread rain with
the front. Lows should dip into the upper 60s/low 70s on Thursday
night provided the timing of the front doesn't speed up at all.

Into Friday, drier and cooler air works in (dew points may even drop
to the 50s by afternoon) with northwesterly flow. It will likely be
a bit gusty in the afternoon as a somewhat deep and dry boundary
layer will be able to tap into 20-30 knots winds around 850 mb, and
this will also aid in mixing out dew points as well. Some lingering
cloud coverage in the morning will erode for the afternoon as broad
high pressure builds across the Ohio Valley and will dominate the
pattern for the rest of the day Friday and into the weekend as well.
Highs will be cooler on Friday with readings in the low to mid
80s.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
In the upper levels, the long term period will look to begin Friday
night with a trough just north of northeast CONUS and a ridge over
the central CONUS. With time, the trough will push eastward as the
ridge builds and becomes a large and dominate feature over the
central CONUS. There is overwhelming support among the ensembles and
deterministic guidance that this large ridge will hold firm for the
long term; the period should be relatively quite weather wise for
the most part.

At the surface level, this upper level pattern will correspond to
high pressure building in Friday night and holding strong influence
over the region for the weekend and thereafter. The surface
high will look to migrate eastward some with time, possibly
sagging southward some for the Sunday through Monday time frame.
This may allow for some shortwave energy to migrate and
penetrate over the region, but for now no precipitation is
anticipated as the upper level ridge and surface high pressure
hold firm.

No PoPs are included throughout the long term period forecast today!
Temperatures will look to run right around average Saturday and
Sunday, perhaps slightly above average for Monday and Tuesday.

.AVIATION /19Z TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.

Thru the evening...Scattered showers/tstms expected mostly
Delaware Valley and south NJ sites. Lower (non-zero) changes for
KRDG/KABE. IFR possible in tstms if over terminal. Mostly VFR
outside of rains. West to Northwest winds around 10 knots. Low-
medium confid.

Overnight...Once the showers/tstms end across the area, there
will be plenty of low level moisture across the area. Low CIGS
and fog are probable but the degree of how much it will affect
flight conditions is a challenge. Winds will become N or NW
overnight. Medium confid.

Wednesday...Low clouds and fog may be slow to diminish, so
reduced CIGS/VSBYS possible until 13Z/14Z. After that, VFR
should prevail for the rest of the day. Winds will be West to
Southwest at 5 to 10 knots much of the time. Medium confid.

Outlook...

Thursday...Predominantly VFR. Scattered showers may result in brief
sub-VFR restrictions in the late afternoon into the evening.
Southerly wind around 10 knots. Moderate confidence.

Friday...Predominantly VFR. More scattered showers may again result
in brief sub-VFR restrictions mainly in the morning hours. Westerly
wind increasing to 10-15 knots with gusts to 20 knots. Moderate
confidence.

Friday night thru Sunday...VFR with mainly clear skies. High
confidence.

.MARINE...
Scattered showers and tstms will be across the waters for the rest
of the afternoon and into the evening as a front and weak low
pressure move through. Behind the front/low winds will shift around
to N or NW later on. Overall, winds and seas will be below SCA
levels but locally higher winds and seas in and near tstms are
always a hazard. Fair weather is expected for Wednesday.

Outlook...

Thursday...No marine headlines expected. Southeasterly wind around
10 knots. Seas 2-3 feet.

Friday...Small Craft Advisory conditions possible. Southwesterly
wind 10-15 knots with gusts to 20 knots. Seas 4-5 feet.

Friday night...Conditions are forecast to be just below SCA
criteria. Seas mainly 3 to 4 ft with frequent gusts near 20 kts.

Saturday through Sunday...No headlines expected.

Rip currents...

A south to southwest wind around 10 MPH is anticipated for
today along the coasts of Delaware and New Jersey. Breaking
waves should be around 2 feet with a long period (around 10
seconds) east southeast swell. The expected conditions suggest
that there will be a LOW risk for the development of rip
currents.

A variable wind 5 to 10 MPH on Wednesday morning is expected to
become onshore around 10 MPH on Wednesday afternoon. Breaking
waves are forecast to be 1 to 2 feet with a medium period
southeast to south swell. There is again a LOW risk of rip
currents.

County through 400 PM EDT...

At 335 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Myerstown, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Reading, Wyomissing, Hamburg, Womelsdorf, Robesonia, Leesport,
