Thunderstorms triggered off of a convergent boundary during peak heating across southeast Mississippi and propagated southwestward across coastal Mississippi and southeast Louisiana during the afternoon and evening hours. Fueled by high instability and drier mid-level air, these storms quickly became severe and produced damaging winds in their path.
