What happened

The episode as NWS SHV wrote it up.

A lingering upper-level trough stretching from the Texas Panhandle southeastward into Louisiana and along the northern Gulf coast provided the necessary forcing for isolated severe thunderstorms to develop across parts of North Louisiana late on June 4th. By the mid to late afternoon hours, thunderstorms began to develop in a modestly unstable air mass with the greatest coverage extending from Deep East Texas into portions of North Louisiana. A few thunderstorms reached severe limits with multiple local storm reports of large hail and damaging wind gusts scattered across North Louisiana throughout the late afternoon hours.
