In the lower-levels, a 4-5 mb surface pressure gradient between the deep-layer cyclone to our northeast and a surface ridge building south-southeastward into the Lower MS Valley will support strong WNW winds once again, especially when coupled with a boundary layer (featuring very steep lapse rates) that will extend up to 6 kft during the peak of the diurnal warming cycle this afternoon. At this point, we are predicting sustained speeds around 20 MPH with gusts up to 30 MPH (higher in elevated terrain), which should largely fall below the criteria for a Wind Advisory.
