.AVIATION [06Z TAF Issuance]...
VFR to occasional MVFR conditions are expected through early
Tuesday morning. Lowest ceilings will be possible around KCLL in
the next 3 to 6 hrs. Otherwise, VFR conditions are expected for
the rest of the day with south to southeast winds. Winds will
strengthen in the afternoon with gusts up to 25 knots at times.
Hazy conditions will also continue through the TAF period,
bringing reduced visibilities at times mainly along the coastal
terminals. 05

.PREV DISCUSSION /Issued 659 PM CDT Mon Jun 13 2022/...
.SHORT TERM [Tonight through Tuesday night]...
Hot and dusty. Strong upper level ridging over the SE US (98-99.5
percentile or greater for heights this time of year) will be
slowly expanding westward maintaining the mid level flow from the
Gulf (bringing more Saharan dust). Upper level low over Eastern
Mexico this afternoon will meander northward and should bring an
increase in upper level moisture/cirrus into SETX tonight through
Tuesday night. Temperatures will still be well above normal
areawide with a strong cap over the area keeping rain chances
around zero. Near the coast record high minimums will be possible.
Inland areas today mixed out earlier than yesterday and this helped
with the heat indices as dewpoints dropped into the 60s before noon.
Again a very similar pattern for tomorrow so don't anticipate the
need for a heat advisory...if so it would probably be just for the
immediate coast.
45
.LONG TERM [Wednesday Through Monday]...
Not planning on any major changes from the previous forecast as the
pattern for SE TX remains mostly hot and dusty...with maybe slight-
ly better chances for rain by Fri/Sat. The strong mid/upper ridging
that has been in place over the Southern Plains will be shifting to
the east around this mid week time frame and could help open up the
Gulf for the latter part of the week. Models have PWs climbing into
2-2.3" range by Fri/Sat and when combined with the seabreeze and/or
a weak easterly moving in from across the northern Gulf coast, can-
not really argue with the 20-30% POPs already in for this period in
the grids. Activity should be mainly during the day. High temperat-
ures will be in the mid and upper 90s with lows in the mid to upper
70s inland/lower to mid 80s at the immediate coast. 41
.MARINE...
Moderate to occasionally strong SE winds will prevail through the
next couple of days and Caution flags may be needed at times. Rip
currents will also continue to be an issue at the coast. Else, we
should see winds/seas decrease during the latter half of the week
as the gradient weakens a bit in response to high pressure build-
ing back over the region. 41
