With only between a half an inch to an inch of total precipitation throughout the month (about half an inch to an inch below normal) and ending 4 to 5 degrees above normal on the whole, far western Dewey County remained in D2 drought throughout September. Impacts continue to include some stock ponds and dugouts that remain dry or contain water of poor quality, dry topsoil and subsoils, and very poor pasture and range conditions. Grassland fire danger has been heightened as well.
