Above normal precipitation from October through November improved drought conditions across the region allowing the severe drought to end.

The United States Drought Monitor (USDM) continued to indicate severe drought conditions across portions of Dutchess County in eastern New York through the first half of November before it was downgraded on November 15.

Above normal precipitation from October through November improved drought conditions across the region allowing the severe drought to end.

A Drought Watch was continued for Dutchess County in NY and remained in place until more significant recovery was noted.

The NY Drought Management Task Force met and opted to hold at status quo and evaluate in a month's time, with a potential next meeting in January. Some dry ponds in southern Dutchess County were reported, so moderate drought was still warranted.
