Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure will gradually build across the area
through the week. Temperatures will increase to dangerous levels by
next weekend.

.DISCUSSION...Through next Sunday
Warm and dry weather will continue across the southern Great Basin
and Mojave Desert starting the work week. There are some light rain
showers across northern Nevada, any remaining showers or
thunderstorms heading into this evening with shortwave moving
through Oregon/Idaho will stay to our north. Also, it will get windy
across the western Mojave Desert; Barstow vicinity this evening.
Longwave trough will stay positioned across the northeast
Pacific/Gulf of Alaska for much of the week. This will allow large
ridge to flex its muscles; expanding from the southern High Plains
westward into the Desert Southwest. This will usher in our first
period of 'hot' temperatures for the season. Wednesday-Saturday:
Temps across Clark, southern Nye and San Bernardino County should
range between 105-110 degrees. Lower Colorado River Valley and Death
Valley in the 110-120 range. High to Very High heat risk levels
should be reached for the valleys of Clark, southern Nye, Inyo, San
Bernardino and Mohave Counties. Expect an Excessive Heat Watch to be
issued in the coming few shifts.
High percentage of the ensemble simulations support dampening of the
ridge starting next Sunday which should initiate a gradual lowering
of our temps heading into next week.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...Light and variable winds are forecast
into the afternoon before turning to the southwest and becoming
gusty by late afternoon. There is a chance winds could become more
southeasterly for a period during the early afternoon, but speeds
should remain below 10kts. Similar wind trends are expected on
Monday. Skies will remain mainly SCT-BKN AOA 20kft AGL through the
afternoon, then becoming FEW-SCT AOA 20kft AGL overnight and Monday.
For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...Moderate breezes are forecast for all sites except KDAG
where gusty westerly will continue into Monday. KBIH may also see a
period of westerly winds late this afternoon and evening before
turning back to the north overnight. All sites will see periods of
high clouds AOA 20kft AGL through the TAF period.
