A strong cold front crossed the region during the 27th. Heavy snow showers and squalls developed in advance of the front during the afternoon and evening. Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph along with heavy snow accompanied the snow squalls leading to whiteout conditions and hazardous travel at times. The snow squalls produced localized snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches.
