A slow moving occluding low remained in the vicinity of the Bay of Fundy from the 28th into the 29th. Precipitation transitioned from rain to snow across Aroostook county during the early morning hours of the 28th with colder air being drawn south. Precipitation then remained in the form of snow into the 29th. The heaviest snow accumulations occurred in an area from Caribou to Mars Hill in northeast Aroostook county. Accumulations in this area generally ranged from 3 to 6 inches...with an isolated 8 inch total. Northwest of the region of heaviest accumulation...lesser precipitation led to less snow. A mix of rain and snow limited snow accumulations to the south. Wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph accompanied the snow along with much below normal level temperatures.
