Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
A complex of showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas progressed southeast through much of Arkansas during the morning hours of June 10th, ahead of a southeast moving shortwave trough that progressed into the Lower Mississippi Valley. These thunderstorms intensified and became severe shortly after daybreak as they entered Southwest Arkansas, tapping into greater wind shear and increasing instability present which extended into North Louisiana. These storms primarily produced damaging winds across these areas throughout the day, with isolated reports of large hail in Natchitoches Parish in North-central Louisiana.
