.SYNOPSIS...
The warming trend continues today, and will take the forecast
area to near normal highs. The warming trend across the region
will persist tomorrow as the ridge of high pressure builds.
Afternoon highs remain warm through Thursday, but cool back down
to near normal over the weekend. High temperatures may attempt to
rebound back into the mid 90s by next Tuesday across the San
Joaquin Valley.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Abundant sunshine across Central California today as high pressure
aloft builds. The warming trend that began yesterday continues
into today. High temperatures across the San Joaquin Valley this
afternoon can be expected to be in the mid to upper 80s, which is
about normal for late May to early June. Afternoon highs are
expected to surge several more degrees tomorrow as the ridge axis
shifts east, and becomes directly overhead. NBM guidance is
predicting highs to be in the mid 90s tomorrow, which will be
about 6-9 degrees above normal. Above normal highs continue on
Thursday, but the north valley may see temps drop a couple degrees
as a trough of low pressure in the Pacific Northwest begins to
flatten the ridge. Onshore flow looks to be a likely scenario for
us Friday and Saturday. Breezy conditions look likely as a result
this weekend, especially through the wind prone areas of Central
California. Highs by Saturday will likely retreat back into the
mid 80s.

By Sunday, the trough looks to begin to lift out of the Pacific
Northwest, so we may see a little bit of warming on Sunday. There
could be enough instability on Sunday to fuel isolated showers
along the Sierra Crests near YNP in the afternoon hours. Any
rainfall would be light on Sunday afternoon in the Sierra Nevada.
Ensemble guidance points towards a rebuilding of the ridge
pattern in the Eastern Pacific for next week. This may lead to a
warming trend across the region for next Monday and Tuesday. NBM
guidance is showing low to mid 90s as afternoon highs for next
Tuesday. Overall, this is a pretty typical weather pattern for
early June.
