.SYNOPSIS...Excessive heat will continue through the weekend.
Thereafter, a weather system passing north of the area will bring
slightly cooler daytime temperatures early next week. Isolated
thunderstorms will be possible the next several days, however any
storms will favor areas south and east of Tucson and in the
mountains.

.DISCUSSION...A few showers and thunderstorms were developing this
afternoon generally in the mountains south and east of Tucson.
Expect a few more to form through this evening before dissipating
with the loss of heating. Some residual moisture will linger over
the weekend with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms
remaining in the forecast for similar locations as the past two
days. Otherwise, models track a weather system north of the area
early next week which will bring a slight cool down and elevated
afternoon winds. Thereafter, ensembles were hinting at a more
pronounced influx of moisture as high pressure aloft amplifies over
the central United States and a low pressure trough deepens along
the West Coast. The circulation around these two features will
result in a deep layer of southeasterly to southerly flow over
Mexico and AZ. This should open the door for a few days of a deeper
moisture tap for more widespread shower and thunderstorm activity
late next week into next weekend.

.AVIATION...Valid through 12/00Z.
Isolated SHRA/TSRA possible for KOLS this afternoon with storms
focused south and east of Tucson, especially near mountainous
regions. KTUS could see some afternoon outflow winds with gusts
around 30 kts possible. Any outflows would occur early evening. SFC
winds will generally be out of the W/NW sustained 7-12 kts with
gusts up to 20 kts across the area through 11/03Z and after 11/18z.
Otherwise, SFC winds will be generally be from the SE less than 10
kts during the night time hours. FEW/SCT clouds between 10k-14k ft
AGL with SCT-BKN cloud decks possible around 25k ft AGL through the
11/03z. Clouds will diminish becoming FEW at 20k-25k ft AGL.

.FIRE WEATHER...Afternoon and evening thunderstorms the past couple
of days will tail off a bit this weekend as the heat ramps up
further. Storms that do develop won't produce a wealth of rainfall
due to a mostly dry lower atmosphere, with the primary threat being
dry lightning strikes and strong gusty winds. Otherwise, winds are
mostly light and terrain driven, but speeds increase Sunday and
Monday favoring the Upper Gila River Valley.
