.SYNOPSIS...Breezy to locally windy conditions will continue
through the weekend. Temperatures will lower to near seasonal
values on Sunday. Another warming trend will occur next week with
a return of 90 degree heat in the San Joaquin Valley, lower
foothills and the Kern County Deserts by Tuesday. Mainly dry
weather will prevail across the area for the next several days.

&&

.DISCUSSION...Cold front currently pushing southward through our
area this afternoon with satellite imagery indicating that is is
currently over Kern County with some noticeable high clouds out
ahead of it. Skies are mainly clear behind the front with
noticably cooler temperatures which are currently running 6 to 9
Deg F below yday behind the front. SREF is indicating that the
front will move out of our CWFA by later this afternoon. The main
impact that this system will have besides the cooler temperatures
is gusty winds, most noticably across the Kern County Mountain
and Deserts where gusts are currently being measured between 35
and 45 mph at many locations with a few stations currently
observing gusts above 45 mph. A Wind Advisory remains in effect
until midnight Sunday evening as onshore p-grads will remain
strong through then. In addition, some local gusts above 30 mph
will be possible along the West Side Hills this evening and again
Sunday afternoon and evening. The winds are expected to diminish
by Monday morning as high pressure builds inland. Other than a few
showers along the Sierra Crest on Sunday afternoon, not much in
the way of precipitation is expected with this system as RH progs
are showing that it is moisture deficient.

A cool northerly flow will prevail over our area on Monday, but
with clear skies and dry weather prevailing, temperatures will
being to trend upward again. The high will strengthen further
over CA on Tuesday and Wednesday with temepratures rising to back
up to well above seasonal normals. Latest NBM probabilistic
guidance is indicating the Fresno has a 56% percent chance of
reaching 90 Deg F or higher and Bakersfield has a 58% percent
chance of reaching 90 Deg F or higher. By Wednesday, guidance is
indicating the Fresno has a 85% percent chance of reaching 90 Deg
F or higher and Bakersfield has a 87% percent chance of reaching
90 Deg F or higher.

The medium range models are in good agreement with breaking down
the high pressure area beginning Thursday as a large upper low
drops out of the Gulf of AK. The low is progged to reach the PAC
NW by Friday and bring an upper trough CA on Friday and Saturday.
This will result in a cooling trend across our area late in the
week with daytime temperatures lowering to below seasonal normals
by Friday and the possibility of another round of breezy to
locally windy conditions next Friday and Saturday.

&&

.AVIATION...Wind gusts in excess of 35 KT are likely through and
below the Kern County mountain passes. Otherwise, VFR conditions
will prevail over the Central CA interior during the next 24
hours.

&&

.AIR QUALITY ISSUES...None.
