The Laural Mountain RAWS measured a peak wind gust of 61 mph.
A strong upper level trough dropped from the Pacific Northwest into the Great Basin on March 23 which resulted in strong pressure gradients over the Sierra Nevada. This resulted in a period of strong northeast wind gusts over the Sierra Nevada and adjacent foothills where several stations measured gusts in between 45 and 55 mph between the late morning and the evening.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
