.DISCUSSION...
An upper low was located over Srn CA this morning as a ridge remains
over Mexico. This low will quickly move east and open up as it does
reaching the TX Panhandle by early Tuesday. Another low off the WA
coast Tuesday will come ashore OR Wednesday and develop into a deep
trough as it works down the coast. By Friday this low/trough will
move into AZ swinging across NM later in the day before passing into
TX early Saturday.
The upper trough will spin up a surface low that moves along the
CO/NM border this afternoon across the Panhandle into OK Tuesday
dragging a weak Pacific front across the region. This should result
in it being a couple degrees cooler tomorrow. However a brisk west
downslope wind on Wednesday will result in a quick warm up with
readings in the 90s moving up into the Permian Basin. Thursday will
be well above normal too before readings return to the 80s Friday.
Currently have a High Wind Warning for the Guadalupe and Delaware
mountains as a mountain wave is expected to develop ahead of the
trough but as of 18z wind speeds have not picked up much. Overall
expect a windy week for the region and could see borderline high
wind conditions at GDP multiple times.
Have a dry forecast with no rain expected through the weekend into
early next week.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Warm, dry, and windy conditions will combine today in the Guadalupe
Mountains, Eddy County, and Chaves County to create near critical
fire weather. A Fire Danger Statement is in effect for these areas
today. Fuels will continue to dry out across the area through the
week and temperatures will be above normal through Friday. Near
critical to critical fire weather will be possible through Friday as
warm, windy, and dry conditions combine across parts of the area.
