What happened

The episode as NWS BGM wrote it up.

A developing area of low pressure moved along the northeast coast during the daytime hours on March 23rd. Light snow developed during the predawn hours on the 23rd. There was a brief lull in the snow during the mid to late morning hours. Then, as the coastal low rapidly intensified, a band of heavy snow developed over the area during the afternoon and early evening hours. Oneida County was hardest hit by this winter system. Snow totals there ranged from 6 to 10 inches, except lower amounts of 3 to 6 inches in the immediate Mohawk Valley around Utica. The snow quickly tapered off and ended by late evening in most locations.
