A different night tonight than it has been as the jet stream has sunk a bit south and high level moisture is streaming east across the Treasure State. So fog and/or frost tonight shouldn't be an issue. Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees warmer than previous nights and this will give a good launching pad for temperatures tomorrow. Winds are not expected to ramp up till Tuesday, mainly across the southern zones where good mixing is expected. TFJ Previous Discussion... A very warm day is on tap for Tuesday with highs ranging from the mid-40s over the deepest snowpack to the mid 60s across Petroleum County. This will result from the combination of high heights over the area and downslope warming. As a front moves through the area we will drop back to highs in the 30s and 40s for Wednesday. A shortwave trough moving through Wednesday night into Thursday will bring a slight chance for a few snow showers with little to no accumulation. Through the end of the week a series of troughs will push across the Pacific northwest and dig a large scale trough across the Plains and Mississippi Valley by the weekend. This will result in temperatures dropping to near normal by the weekend. Details and moisture associated with the digging trough remain a bit unclear, but we could see a few snow showers across at least part of the area with little in the way of accumulation. -Mottice && .AVIATION...
