Wind gusts generally ranged from 35 to 45 mph...with locally stronger gusts in excess of 50 mph. The strong winds combined with recent snow to produce extensive blowing and drifting snow across Aroostook county. The most extensive impacts occurred in open agricultural areas exposed to the winds. Significant blowing and drifting snow...along with reduced visibilities...affected roads in these areas which led to several accidents.
