Within a few days in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, hot and humid conditions lingered across Northwest Louisiana from August 30th-31st, as afternoon temperatures climbed into the lower to mid 90s each day. A weak surface frontal passage moved through the area during the early morning hours of the 29th, resulting in slightly drier air to filter into the area.

Within a few days in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, hot and humid conditions lingered across Northwest Louisiana from August 30th-31st, as afternoon temperatures climbed into the lower to mid 90s each day. A weak surface frontal passage moved through the area during the early morning hours of the 29th, resulting in slightly drier air to filter into the area. However, these temperatures combined with the humidity contributed to heat indices ranging from 100-103 degrees on the 30th across Caddo and Bossier Parishes, and 105-110 degrees on the 31st. Due to the extensive power outages across much of Northwest and North-central Louisiana in wake of Laura, the NWS Shreveport Heat Advisory criteria was temporarily lowered to heat indices greater than or equal to 100 degrees for parishes where at least 10% of the parish was without power in wake of Hurricane Laura.
