What happened

The episode as NWS HUN wrote it up.

A mixture of rain and snow showers developed behind a strong cold front and upper-level trough during the early afternoon hours. The rain became all snow as temperatures fell into the lower to middle 30s. The snow ended from west to east during the evening hours. Although not widespread, accumulations of up to 1/2 inch were reported, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. A lake effect band of snow developed downwind of Wheeler Reservoir along the Tennessee River as northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph lined up parallel to this body of water. Social media reports indicated a very narrow band of snow accumulations on grassy and elevated surface of 1/2 to 1 inch based on photos.
