Low pressure deepened and pushed through the Northern Plains as cold air poured in behind. Snow developed over North Dakota as a variety of short-wave troughs lifted through the state. The heaviest snow was primarily over northern part of North Dakota, with locations in McHenry and McKenzie counties getting around a foot of snow.
