Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Las Vegas NV 916 PM PDT Sun Jun 30 2019 .SYNOPSIS... Dry with near normal temperatures are expected for much of the upcoming week. Daily afternoon breezy conditions can also be expected. && .UPDATE...Weather quieting down with mainly clear skies, near normal temperatures, and afternoon breezes the next several days. Inherited forecast in good shape, no updates needed this evening. && .DISCUSSION... The last bit of Alvin's moisture has finally exited the region this afternoon with just some clouds left over Lincoln and Mohave Counties. Those will clear out by this evening leaving the entire area under clear skies overnight. A persistent eastern Pacific trough will keep the region under a dry southwest flow through much of the upcoming week with occasional afternoon breezy conditions. Temperatures are expected to remain near normal The models are hinting that the trough will weaken toward the end of the week allowing for high pressure to strengthen over the desert southwest. This should help to bring warmer temperatures back to the area, but there is still no sign of any significant monsoonal moisture. && .AVIATION...For McCarran...Southwest winds will lose their gusts after sunset this evening, then become light and variable around sunrise Monday morning. Southwest winds will develop once again by Monday afternoon, with the most likely time a little earlier than previous days, the onset window looks to be 18-21Z. The pattern does not change much, so more of the same expected into Tuesday.
