What happened

The episode as NWS PAH wrote it up.

A low pressure system tracked east-northeast from the lower Mississippi Valley to the Carolinas. On the north side of this low, there was widespread snow and sleet on the afternoon and evening of the 15th. Accumulations of snow and sleet were generally one inch or less. This was sufficient to cause slippery road conditions and some accidents.
