Convergent bands of showers have been moving ashore the coast from Ponte Vedra to St Augustine producing estimated rainfall amounts of slightly over an inch. The trend will be for scattered showers and isolated storms to develop further inland this afternoon with bulk of activity west of U.S. Hwy 301. Short wave energy may also enhance some storms which may produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds. && .AVIATION...Onshore flow pattern will occasionally produce periods of MVFR CIGs at TAF sites today. Have VCSH in TAFs this morning with TEMPO groups after 18Z. Winds could once again gust occasionally up to 15-20kts for TAF sites near coast Sunday. && .MARINE... A frontal boundary will remain stationary across north central Florida today. The local pressure gradient will begin to slowly loosen today as high pressure begins to weaken and settle southward. High pressure will then settle directly over our region early next week as the frontal boundary finally dissipates, resulting in less coverage of showers and thunderstorms over our waters. A loose pressure pattern will allow the Atlantic sea breeze to develop towards noon each day through midweek. Rip Currents: A Moderate risk will continue today for the beaches north of St. Augustine as breezy northeasterly winds combine with elevated seas.
