A passing storm system generated accumulating snow and gusty winds, primarily over sections of Chaffee, Custer, El Paso, Mineral, Otero and Pueblo counties. Six to eight of snow visited locations near the Air Force Academy, Wolf Creek Pass, Westcliffe, Monument, Beulah, Rye, La Junta and Black Forest. Eleven inches of snow impacted Monarch Pass. Also, 60 wind gusts were recorded near Peterson Air Force Base, Fountain and Truckton with a 67 mph wind measured near Campo. This storm also produced significant flash freeze conditions, especially over sections of El Paso county. In addition, winds gusting to around 60 mph at times were noted near Peterson AFB, Blende, Fountain and Truckton.
