A strong winter storm brought heavy snowfall to most of western and south central South Dakota. Widespread snowfall amounts of 6 to 12 inches were reported across much of the area, with locally higher amounts over the northern Black Hills area. Far northwest South Dakota received 3 to 6 inches of snow. Breezy conditions on the plains produced patchy blowing snow.
