Mixed precipitation began in the evening of the 10th and changed to all snow by morning. There were reports of over 6 inches of snow by daybreak. Most of the snow diminished greatly by 4 PM, but a gravity wave band of moderate to heavy snow continued into the early evening along the north shore and into eastern Carlton County.
Snowfall amounts in the Minnesota Arrowhead ranged from 7 to over 9 inches. Specific amounts were 9.3 at Winton, 8.2 25 miles east of Ely, 8 at Soudan and 7.1 in Cook.
